Hi dolls! I hope everyone is enjoying the hot summer weather and the holidays that come along with them! If you're in the southern hemisphere I hope you're all keeping warm with lots of hot chocolate and blankets!

Anyhow, onto today's topic! This time it's quite different from our usual posts. You may remember last year I wrote a blog featuring some of my favourite cafes around Tokyo (and Kyoto!). Following that post, I decided to explore a little more and see what Japan's nightlife has to offer Larme fans. I was definitely not disappointed! Below are some of my top recommendations for those of you feeling a bit adventurous!

Bar Zikkai | Ginza

When most people think of a bar, they think of loud music and even louder people trying to yell over the music! However, tucked away in the basement of the Ginza MS building lies Bar Zikkai. This bar offers a quiet and relaxing atmosphere, in which guests are surrounded by large, comfortable sofas and a seemingly never-ending supply of books. A large bookcase covering the back wall, houses all your favourite literary classics (such as Alice in Wonderland ;D) and also offers an extensive range of photo and visual art books to flick through! Its interior has an eerie yet romantic feel with chandeliers, skulls and roses scattered throughout the bar. It's drink menu features a wide selection of liquor, with it's most popular drinks being the monthly theme drinks! These are featured on their social media so be sure to check out their Instagram! Bar Zikkai operates as a café during the day, so you can visit and experience a different ambience depending on what time you go!

Hachigatsu no Kujira | Shibuya

Film culture plays such a significant role within the Larme magazine and is an endless source of inspiration for both the fashion and photoshoot concepts. Hachigatsu no Kujira is famous for it's unique and exciting movie-themed cocktails, with it's menu featuring a selection of movie names and the alcoholic base for each cocktail. If your favourite movie isn't on the list, you can ask a bartender to create one especially for you! I would recommend researching the Japanese name for the movie though, as movie names can be completely different from English to Japanese (i.e. The movie 'Coco' is called 'Remember me' in Japanese). I was pleasantly surprised to discover that prices for Hachigatsu no Kujira were quite reasonable, and despite it's special concept, most cocktails are similar prices to any other standard bar. However, as one would expect, the more elaborate the cocktail, the more expensive!

Bar Piano | Shibuya

Bar Piano is a cozy little bar nestled amongst several small and eclectic bars situated in the famous Nonbei Yokochou in Shibuya! The interior is filled with antique chandeliers, oil paintings and a myriad of cute knickknacks, leaving your eyes entertained no matter where you look! The bar itself has a maximum capacity of around 6-8 people (3 seats down stairs and large couch, curving around the walls of the top floor), making it an ideal location for a small gathering of friends. Enjoy chatting and having a drink or two while you take cute pictures with the gorgeous interior!
