Cute Tokyo Bars for Larme Fans | Tokyo Nightlife

Hi dolls! I hope everyone is enjoying the hot summer weather and the holidays that come along with them! If you're in the southern hemisphere I hope you're all keeping warm with lots of hot chocolate and blankets!

Anyhow, onto today's topic! This time it's quite different from our usual posts. You may remember last year I wrote a blog featuring some of my favourite cafes around Tokyo (and Kyoto!). Following that post, I decided to explore a little more and see what Japan's nightlife has to offer Larme fans. I was definitely not disappointed! Below are some of my top recommendations for those of you feeling a bit adventurous!

Bar Zikkai | Ginza

When most people think of a bar, they think of loud music and even louder people trying to yell over the music! However, tucked away in the basement of the Ginza MS building lies Bar Zikkai. This bar offers a quiet and relaxing atmosphere, in which guests are surrounded by large, comfortable sofas and a seemingly never-ending supply of books. A large bookcase covering the back wall, houses all your favourite literary classics (such as Alice in Wonderland ;D) and also offers an extensive range of photo and visual art books to flick through! Its interior has an eerie yet romantic feel with chandeliers, skulls and roses scattered throughout the bar. It's drink menu features a wide selection of liquor, with it's most popular drinks being the monthly theme drinks! These are featured on their social media so be sure to check out their Instagram! Bar Zikkai operates as a café during the day, so you can visit and experience a different ambience depending on what time you go!

Price: From 1000 yen + Table Charge (Cafe time 15:00 ~ 18:00 = 500 yen OR Bar time 18:00 ~ 24:00 = 1000 yen)
Address: 2nd Basement Floor of the MS Ginza Building, 5-1-8 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo |
東京都中央区銀座5-1-8 銀座MSビル地下二階
 > Take the Exit C2 from Ginza station
Opening Hours: Tuesday ~ Sunday  15:00 ~ 24:00
Closed on Mondays. Open late on Friday nights (Until 2:00 the next day)

Hachigatsu no Kujira | Shibuya

Film culture plays such a significant role within the Larme magazine and is an endless source of inspiration for both the fashion and photoshoot concepts. Hachigatsu no Kujira is famous for it's unique and exciting movie-themed cocktails, with it's menu featuring a selection of movie names and the alcoholic base for each cocktail. If your favourite movie isn't on the list, you can ask a bartender to create one especially for you! I would recommend researching the Japanese name for the movie though, as movie names can be completely different from English to Japanese (i.e. The movie 'Coco' is called 'Remember me' in Japanese). I was pleasantly surprised to discover that prices for Hachigatsu no Kujira were quite reasonable, and despite it's special concept, most cocktails are similar prices to any other standard bar. However, as one would expect, the more elaborate the cocktail, the more expensive!

Price: From 800yen ~ + Table Charge (500 yen)
Address: 28-13 Udagawa-cho, Shibuya, Tokyo | 東京都渋谷区渋谷1-25-10 のんべい横町
Opening Hours: 16:00 ~ 4:00 (the next day)

Bar Piano | Shibuya

Bar Piano is a cozy little bar nestled amongst several small and eclectic bars situated in the famous Nonbei Yokochou in Shibuya! The interior is filled with antique chandeliers, oil paintings and a myriad of cute knickknacks, leaving your eyes entertained no matter where you look! The bar itself has a maximum capacity of around 6-8 people (3 seats down stairs and large couch, curving around the walls of the top floor), making it an ideal location for a small gathering of friends. Enjoy chatting and having a drink or two while you take cute pictures with the gorgeous interior!

Price: From 1000 yen + Table Charge (1000 yen)
Address: Nonbei Yokocho, 1-25-10 Shibuya, Tokyo  | 東京都渋谷区渋谷1-25-10 のんべい横町
Opening hours: Everyday, 20:00 ~ 3:00 (the next day)

So that was a few of my recommendations for cute bars in Tokyo, Japan. Let us know in the comments which one you would like to visit! Until next time!

Style Steal: Melt the Lady designer, Aya!

categories: , ,

Hello everyone! Today I have another installment in our Style Steal series! This time I've chosen the wonderful Aya - a model and designer of the well known brand Melt the Lady. Below is four of her personal outfits, as well as suggestions for dupes in order for you to replicate her style! I hope you enjoy!

Aya's style is very versatile and she is a master at creating stylish coordinates by interpreting each season's trends in a unique and interesting way. Her main two styles seem to be either girly with a fitted silhouette, and featuring lots of lace and feminine details, or a more loose casual and sporty style that still keeps the Larme vibe by utilising cute accessories such as ribbons, chic sunglasses and fancy phone cases.

Aya pays particular attention to detail, often choosing unique bags and accessories as a main vocal point. Sometimes these accessories are in a contrasting colour to further compliment each outfit. I personally love how she manages to make her street style look sleek and stylish, but still comfortable and easy to move around in - Perfect for a trip to Disneyland or a long day of sight-seeing!

I've selected four of my favourite outfits from Aya's Instagram and searched through many online stores such as Forever 21, H&M and Asos, in order to find items that are more widely available to you!

Valentine's Day | Petite Dollies Fashion Theme

Back in February, Petite Dollies announced the first ever Fashion Theme! The idea was born from a discussion in the Larme Facebook group concerning the amount of similar coordinates within the foreign community, due to limited contact with the fashion outside of Japan.

Our goal in starting this fashion theme is to encourage everyone to experiment with different styles and colour schemes, and remove ourselves from our fashion comfort zone! This is not to say that we can't still enjoy our favourite colours and fashion styles (You know I'm all for pink x black coords ;D), but we thought it would be a little less nerve-wracking for people to try out something new if we all did at the same time! Who knows, you might even discover your new favourite colour combination or clothing style!

For our first theme, we chose 'Valentine's Day' and below are the cute and stylish girls who sent in their beautiful entries to us!

one. Nana

two. Fon K.

three. Weisstariss d'Orange

five. Wing

Thank you to all who participated in our first ever fashion theme! You all look amazing! <3

Our next fashion theme is 'Spring is in the air'!

If you'd like to participate, please email (theauthors@petitedollies.com) us:

> Your name
> Your username from your SNS of choice (Instagram, Facebook, Youtube etc.)
> A small description of your outfit and the inspiration behind it
> 1~3 pictures of your outfit, hair and makeup

Think about what inspires you about spring! Maybe it's a picnic date? or picking flowers in a garden! What patterns and colours make you think of spring? Gingham or floral? Pinks, reds, greens, or maybe purple? Whatever you decide, we are looking forward to seeing your beautiful coordinates!

Please send us your entry for this Fashion Theme before May 31st 2018.

Note: We decided to make the theme bi-monthly to give you a bit more time to come up with your coordinates, as well as to follow along with Larme magazine, which is also bi-monthly. We may return to monthly themes in the future, although this depends on how many entries we receive!

Thank you for reading and we hope you participate!

Adventures in Asakusa | Outfit Post

Hey guys, how have you all been lately? Today I have just a quick update! I've been lucky enough to spend the last month and a half in Japan, and so I thought I'd share a couple of outfits I've worn during my trip!

I wore this first outfit during my day out in Asakusa with my lovely friend Tomi (thanks for taking the photos :P)! I wanted something comfortable and easy to walk around in, but still somewhat 'put together,' so I opted for this cute off the shoulder top from Spinns and a pair of black pants from Valleygirl. In order to give the outfit a little more 'attitude,' I added heart locket choker and wore my shiny black crayme, shoes that feature silver detailing. For a more close up look, please watch the video below! :D

One of my favourite things to do in Japan is to seek out Showa Retro ( 1926 - 1989 ) cafes and attractions that most people tend to overlook. Away from the hustle and bustle of the main streets in Asakusa, lies Hanayashiki -  the oldest running amusement park in Japan. Although some might find it's decorations tacky and childish, I find the scenery quite whimsical and even somewhat nostalgic! Definitely a cute place to visit for any Larme lover!

Necklace: aliexpress
Top: Spinns
Pants: Valleygirl
Shoes: crayme,
Coat: secondhand shop in Japan

Hanayashiki Amusement Park
Address: 2 Chome-28-1 Asakusa, Taitō, Tokyo 111-0032, Japan
Opening Hours: 10:00 ~ 18:00 (May vary depending on the season/weather)
Entrance Fee: Children - 500yen Adults - 1000yen (Ride Tickets separate)

~ BONUS~

This outfit I threw together when I met up with a friend to go shopping in Harajuku. Due to the end of season sales, I was able to purchase this lovely coat for only 1000yen! What a steal! The touch of pink helps to soften the punkish vibe coming from the rest of the outfit.

Top: Swankiss
Harness: GU
Skirt: Bardot
Shoes: Doc Martins
Coat: Spinns

Although short, I hope you enjoyed this little update post! Please look forward to more content from us soon!

As Always

Eri's Top 10 Summer Makeup Picks!

  Comment
categories: , , ,

Hi everyone!

As summer draws to an end, I'd like to share some of my favourite products that took me all throughout Christmas & heatwave season in a glorious haze of peach and rose!

1. Tarte Blush Bazaar
This amazing blush palette features 10 shades, all in large (or what I consider pretty large) size! There are 7 blushes and 2 highlighters, then one very interesting shade that is red, but has the luminosity of a highlighter - "Extraordinary". The pigmentation is great, so use sparingly!

2. Stila Liquid Liner
The only downside to this is that the cap is a little bit loose, and it eventually ended up falling off and drying out :( But while it was still alive, it was incredible. I don't have a steady hand but this still worked for me, and survived much sweat and even showers!

4. Too Faced Peach Kiss Lipstick
WHAT IS THIS SORCERY? It's simultaneously creamy and matte with amazing pigment (swiped once), and didn't dry my lips out, and also tasted delicious and I want every single colour.

5. Tarteist Lip Crayon
Latergram was a perfect nude for me! Good pigment, good lasting power. Matched really well with the ABH Lip Gloss in Toffee.

6. Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette
I am aware this is a cult fav and I 100% understand why. Several months in and I feel like I'm still discovering new ways to use it! Good for everyday and also good for when you feel like being extra but still cute! Pigmentation is better with some colours but I usually use a damp brush and it's fine. Also it smells incredible.

7. Jane Iredale Glow Time BB Cream
I'll probably never buy another BB Cream aside from Jane Iredale & Skin79. However, I much prefer Jane Iredale in the heat because it melts a lot less easily. It also has the coverage of a full foundation without suffocating your skin! A small drop goes a long way.

8. Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss
I really love this lip gloss in Toffee because I love shiny lips - but it also is fully opaque and it doesn't sink into cracks! And it tastes like toffee ice cream.

9. Youngblood Setting Powder
Second skin: check. Pretty golden glow: check. No icky floral smell: check. Great coverage: check!!!

10. Ardell Dark Eyelash Glue
Their transparent version is good as well, but I prefer the dark, as I feel like it blends better with a thick upper eyeliner! I've also tested this on a rollercoaster - passed!

Hope you all enjoyed my little beauty picks! Which are your favourites? Do you have any of these products as well? Let us know below & stay tuned for Autumn beauty picks!
